Yandex.Money was renamed YooMoney. An old casino logo does not establish current acceptance, and the consumer wallet must be distinguished from YooKassa, the merchant payment product.
A bank transfer remains a separate payment instrument from a YooMoney wallet payment. The change of brand does not make their authorisation, charges or payout rules interchangeable.
What Happened to Yandex Money?
On 17 September 2020 the company announced that the consumer service would become YooMoney and the business product YooKassa. A second notice followed on 12 November 2020: the legal entity's name in the state register had changed from Yandex.Money to YooMoney. Both names were to run side by side until 15 December, after which only the new ones would remain.
The two dates are different events, one a brand announcement and one a change of legal name. A rename is also not a shutdown. The notice says users could still open wallets and order cards, and that products would keep developing under the new brand. So, is Yandex Money still available? Under that name, no; it continues as YooMoney.
Yandex.Money, YooMoney and YooKassa
The table shows what each name stands for.
Name | Role | Main editorial check |
|---|---|---|
Yandex.Money | Historical brand | Use past/current terminology correctly |
YooMoney | Consumer payment/wallet product | Check current user terms |
YooKassa | Merchant acceptance solution | Do not call settlement a player payout |
Casino logo | Page content | Does not establish present support |
On YooMoney vs YooKassa: a consumer holds a YooMoney wallet and pays from its balance, while a business uses YooKassa to accept customers' payments. Money settled to a merchant through YooKassa is not a payout to a player.
Is Current Casino Acceptance Confirmed?
No. The answer depends on YooMoney's user terms, the merchant category a casino falls into, your country and the casino's own cashier. The rebrand notice says nothing about gambling, and we found no current gambling merchant rule to quote, so we do not claim that YooMoney casino payments work freely. Until a cashier shows the method for your country and the provider's terms allow it, treat support as unproven.
Historical Casino Deposits
Yandex Money casino payments used to follow a simple pattern: the player picked the wallet in the cashier, confirmed on the wallet's own page and came back to the casino. That is history, and it is not a how-to. Do not use an old domain or an intermediary to recreate it.
Current Route: Only If Confirmed
Use only a current product permitted for the transaction under its provider terms and supported by the casino for your market. A rebranding announcement is not evidence that a present-day gambling integration exists.
Withdrawals and Old Wallet Balances
Reaching an old wallet and its balance is one question. A Yandex Money casino withdrawal, meaning winnings paid into a wallet, is another.
Account access and recovery should be checked through current YooMoney support. Brand continuity does not establish that old tariffs, limits or casino-payment permissions still apply.
Fees, Identity and Limits
What you pay and what you can do depend on the current status of your account, how you fund it, any currency conversion and the casino's rules. Old Yandex.Money tariffs are not today's YooMoney prices. Identity levels are the provider's to set.
Old Logos and Current Alternatives
Brand continuity does not prove that merchant categories stayed the same. Ask support in writing whether the method is live for your country, whether it covers deposits and withdrawals, and under which product name.
Never ask someone else to pay from their account, and never misstate a transfer's purpose. If the method is unconfirmed, use another route the cashier shows.
Is Yandex.Money now YooMoney?
Yes. The consumer service was renamed, and after 15 December 2020 only the new names were to remain.
Is YooKassa the wallet?
No. YooKassa is the business product for accepting payments. The wallet is YooMoney.
Did the service close?
The official notice describes a rename. We found no source describing a closure.
Can an old logo prove casino support?
No. Only the live cashier and the provider's current terms show what works.
Do old fees still apply?
Do not assume so. Yandex.Money tariffs are not YooMoney tariffs.
Can I receive winnings into a current account?
Unconfirmed. It needs a casino that offers the method for withdrawals in your country and provider terms that allow it. Ask the casino first.
