Sofort casinos belong mostly to the past: standalone Sofort has been discontinued at the processors we checked, and the brand has been absorbed into Klarna. Stripe and Mollie gave different end dates for their own integrations, so there is no single closing day to quote. If a casino still shows an old Sofort logo, treat that as a prompt to check the cashier, not as evidence that the method works.

An ordinary bank transfer is a different route from the former Sofort checkout. The end of a particular Sofort integration should not be treated as the end of bank payments generally.

What Was Sofort?

Sofort was a bank-payment checkout. At the merchant's page you picked your bank, signed in with your banking credentials and approved a payment, after which the merchant received a notice of it. It was not a wallet, not a buy-now-pay-later product, and not the same thing as today's SEPA Instant transfers.

What Changed With Klarna?

Stripe's support page says Klarna acquired SOFORT in 2014 and that SOFORT is being consolidated into Klarna and discontinued as a standalone method. Mollie's notice also refers to the 2014 acquisition. For the buyer, Stripe names Klarna's pay in full option, previously called Pay Now, as the nearest replacement.

None of this says what a given casino accepts. Listing Klarna does not mean every Klarna product is switched on, and neither source discusses gambling merchants.

Provider-specific Support Deadlines

Each processor ended its own integration on its own schedule, and each date applies only to that integration.

Old logo is insufficient

Stripe adds that an earlier deadline of 29 November 2024 was extended after discussion with its financial partners. Stripe lists Austria, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain as the markets for SOFORT. We found nothing on other processors, so we apply no date to them. Three things blur easily: the 2014 acquisition was a corporate event, the move into Klarna is a product change, and the end of an integration is a technical cutoff for one processor and its merchants.

Historical Casino Deposit Flow

A Sofort casino deposit in the old scheme went like this:

• The player chose Sofort and then a bank from a list.

• The bank authenticated the player.

• The player confirmed the order.

• The merchant received a notification of the payment.

This is a historical account of a bank-payment checkout, not a current deposit tutorial for the discontinued Stripe and Mollie integrations.

Withdrawals, Refunds and Old Deposits

A refund sends a payment back to where it came from. A Sofort casino withdrawal, if one existed, would be a payout of winnings, and that is a separate casino decision. Do not read one as the other.

Stripe described a refund window of up to 180 days from the original SOFORT payment and said existing SEPA mandates were unaffected by the integration change. The refund period was tied to each payment date. It is not a newly available refund window in 2026 or a casino-winnings payout service.

Sofort, Klarna Pay Now and Instant Transfers

Sofort is a brand and a historic checkout, ended at the processors above. Klarna's pay in full is the current name for paying at once, and it is Klarna and the merchant's processor who confirm what is live. An instant bank transfer is a route run by banks, where the scheme and your own bank set the speed. Sofort vs bank transfer is thus brand against channel, not two rival products.

Pay later and instalment products are another category entirely. They do not replace paying a casino from your own money.

Old Casino Logos and Current Alternatives

Click through and read what appears: the redirect, the method name and the terms. If the checkout has changed, the earlier conditions may not have survived, and we do not assume they did. Sofort alternatives are best judged the same way, by checking the migration notices, the current product, your country, the bank route and the payout side one at a time. The older German name has its own short explainer under Sofortüberweisung.

For other product guides, browse the casino payment methods directory. Acceptance still depends on the provider, market and casino.

Is Sofort still available as a standalone method?

At Stripe and Mollie, no: their notices end it in March 2025 and September 2024 respectively. Beyond those two integrations, support is unconfirmed.

Why are there different end dates?

Each processor set its own cutoff for its own integration. The sources contain no worldwide date.

Is it the same as Klarna?

Klarna acquired SOFORT in 2014 and folded it into its pay in full option. Sofort is part of Klarna's story, but the two names are not synonyms.

Is it an instant transfer?

It was a bank-payment checkout with a merchant notification. That does not prove your casino balance was credited at once.

Can it receive winnings?

We found no source saying so. Ask the casino for its current payout methods.

What if the casino keeps the old logo?

Open the method and check the redirect and the name. A logo alone confirms nothing about what runs behind it.
