Daily News: KSA issues new licenses, Australia blocks online casino domains and more

KSA is going to issue 35 online casino licenses.

The Dutch regulator expects to receive the first applications as early as April 1, when the Remote Gambling Law comes into force.

What does the Law include?
- Obligation of operators to check all players at the Crucks self-exclusion base
- Limitation of bonuses
- Ban on advertising of gambling from 6 am to 9 pm
- Increase in the income tax of operators up to 29.1% GGR

Kansspelautoriteit also promises huge fines for money laundering and violation of the rules of responsible gambling. One way or another, all this can lead to a sharp growth of the gray market.

ACMA will block 10 more online casino domains

The blacklist includes: Play Croco, Aussie Play, Golden Reels, All Spins Win, Bonza Spins, Pokie Spins, Golden Pokies, House of Pokies, Pokie Mate and PokieZ.
With a black market operating in Australia, brands are already prepared for such bans. Most often, mirrors are created and all traffic is directed there. Last month, the regulator added to the blacklist 18 more domains.

Japan is not going to legalize online gambling.

Due to the large gain of traffic to offshore online casinos during the pandemic, recently the issue of legalizing of the online gambling market segment has been brought up in Japan.

However, according to the head of the public safety committee, Hachiro Okonogi, the legalizing of online casinos is impossible in the near future. The minister also added that the country would continue to monitor and block all offshore online casinos.

Parimatch paid for a license to organize and conduct betting activities in Ukraine in the amount of UAH 108 million ($3.9 million).

The operator can legally offer its bookmaker services throughout Ukraine now. Today Parimatch is the only legal betting operator in the country. The license was issued for 5 years.

iGN: In Parimatch’s case, the KRAIL license is more of an image-building story. Most of the operator's traffic is media — outdoor advertising in stadiums, the operator's integration into the marketing activities of sports clubs and advertising during sports broadcasts. Naturally, only a white operator can afford it. The question whether the Ukrainian license is worth the money remains open.

BGC will start cooperation with KSA.

The Belgian Gambling Commission Kansspelcommissie (BGC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Dutch gambling regulator Kansspelautoriteit (KSA). Both agencies plan to work together on player protection and control online casino activities in both markets.

KSA works with regulatory authorities in France, Sweden and Malta.

The gray market operates in both the Netherlands and Belgium. Therefore, until the official opening of the gambling market in the Netherlands, the situation is unlikely to change. The experience of KSA’s cooperation with ANJ (French gambling regulator) has shown that in practice such cooperation does not affect the activities of online casinos in any way.

The Moldovan regulator has blocked access to 229 betting and gambling sites.

State Services Agency (ASU) added 229 online casino domains to the blacklist at once. The authorities decided to stop operation of Internet resources back in January 2021, but the document came into force only in March.

According to Moldovan legislation, the monopoly on gambling belongs to the state. Less than 2 months have passed since the ASU received the authority to block illegal offshore operators. The blacklist includes: 1xbet, Parimatch, Melbet, bwin, Betsson, Betway, 1xstavka, 888, Leon, etc.

Danish regulator Spillemyndigheden will block 55 illegal online casino domains.

The blacklisted domains included royalspinz.com, kingbillycasino.com, easybet.com, slotjoint.com, dafabet.com, casino-z.com, spinupcasino.com and muchovegascasino.com. Currently, there are 145 online casino sites on the blacklist of the Danish regulator.

This is the largest onetime blocking in the entire history of the regulator’s activity. A complete list of domains blocked can be viewed on their website.
