Daily News: Jackpot at casino Scientific Games and large online casinos in Ukraine closed
The first ever syndicate jackpot at Scientific Games online casino
Scientific Games has released the first ever progressive online jackpot that can be hunted along with other players. Such a collective pursuit increases the chances for you to get a piece of the prize. After all, the probability to win the prize increases when playing together. And the more players, the more likely they win.
The first slot implementing this feature was Nessie’s Mega Drop Quest. However, it will be available exclusively at Betsson Casino for some time. Although it was reported that in January, this feature would be launched on other platforms as well. Release dates for certain markets will be announced later.
The slot machine offers three progressive jackpots of the Mega Drop series: Minor, Major, Epic. This jackpot is connected not by one but many slots. So far, little is known about new but most likely the player will have a choice of teams to join. And if the team of players wins the jackpot, it will be divided between participants proportionally.
This is another step towards adding a social factor to online gambling. The term "social gaming" is gaining popularity among industry experts, and some predict that the future of internet gambling is behind this trend. Representative of Scientific Games, Dylan Slaney, commented:
It is important for us, as suppliers, to use syndicates and be involved in creating ways to simplify social games making them entertaining for all users. This is one of the most serious tasks for our team, and we coped with it by offering something much more than a “big win”. We are very glad to introduce a product that reflects the focus of our platform on the community. We are happy to work with Betsson in our first release.
Ukrainian online casinos with a huge turnover were closed
In Ukraine, cyber police arrested a number of illegal online casinos that brought their owner more than $100k per month. This was reported by the press service of the National Police.
According to law enforcement officers, the owner of the illegal gambling business was a 28-year-old resident of the Dnipropetrovsk region. The man rented a server where he later placed all his online casinos. He also took care of the safety of the gaming process, was engaged in the promotion of virtual casinos, and even set up technical support for players in case of problems.
The casino had a number of rules, for example, you can start the game only after you make a deposit. To create a personal account, the player had to enter his personal data on the site.
The owner of the resource did not provide any guarantees about the confidentiality of these players. Information could be used at the discretion of the owners of the online platform.
During a search in a private house in the Kiev region, the police found a safe with more than $220k which the casino owner received illegally.
They also seized computer equipment, storage media, a mobile phone and bank cards which were used to cash funds.
The owner of the online casino faces a fine of UAH 84 million, and his property may be confiscated.
